An Inspiring Planned Giving Story from the Greenleaf Sisters

In a heartwarming testament to family legacy and dedication, sisters Cynthia (Cynnie) Greenleaf Fanton ’65, who lives in Connecticut, and Marjorie (Marjo) Greenleaf Valliere ’61, who lives in Indiana, have both included Miss Porter's School in their estate plans through gifts in their wills. By doing so, they secured their places as members of the Moonbeams Circle.

The decision was natural for both Cynthia and Marjorie because their family has always emphasized the importance of planning for the future and supporting the institutions they were part of. And the process was very easy for both of them.

Cynnie and Marjo fondly recalled their education's unique and transformative dynamic. Marjo remembered the experience of coming by train from a small city in the Midwest to boarding school in New England. While at MPS, both sisters made friends from many different parts of the country.

They emphasized the independence they gained at a young age, traveling alone to school and making their own decisions within a close-knit community. These experiences shaped them profoundly and contributed to their lifelong support of the School.
